I agree. Even if we make the playoffs we won't do shit without a healthy Holmes. Rest him now, and hope he's good for Wildcard Weekend.
Bears offense is anemic and I think we can win a low scoring game ... and we should be able to run all over Buffalo.

Yup, sit him if he's not 90%.

We've won without him before, we can do it again.

Yeah, it slowed LT down in San Diego and it was obvious when Jahvid Best got hit with one early in the season. Seems like RBs are affected more by it, but what do I know. As long as he can catch some slants, Im fine with it.

The TD to Holmes in the Texans game (Not the game winner) was a slant.

Anyone remember when Coles got turf toe? He never was the same after, his speed drops significantly.

He's right. Just like Sanchez has never thrown a pass, we never throw slants either. We throw a football, and run a slant route.

Ive had turf toe in high school. It sucks but you can play through it and if you rest it enough it goes away. Sadly Santonio wont have that opportunity unless we win this week and sit him for bills game since we will run all day nehow

There are different grades of the injury as well. Playing through the pain at the HS level is much different then the NFL level.

Even if it is only a grade 1 i would sit him. Turf toe can get very serious and has brought down many great players before. If we play him and it gets worse where does that put us? I feel we can do alright without him this game and save him for the playoffs. Hopefully 2-3 weeks will get him back to hundred percent. Where if we play him this week we run the risk of it getting worse and worse and losing him for who knows how long.

Turf toe is pretty serious and can linger for months if not an entire season. This is really worse than Rex is letting on I think.

turf toe is an elogation of the toe ligament... I guess the pain and seriousness level depends on how much you elongate it.

I'd keep him active but just like we didn't see much of Cotchery last week I hope we don't see much of Holmes this week.

BTW if Brunell plays we are going to run the shit out of the ball and Edwards + Cotchery are much better blockers than Holmes so...
