Stafford is someone else's garbage? You wouldn't even give up a first rounder for him? Some of these posts are unbelievable.

Kaepernick, Cutler, Bradford, etc. are "other people's garbage". Stafford is a quality QB, a number 1 overall pick who's played at a high level, that might be forced off of his team due to circumstance alone. You pounce on those. Who are we gonna pick in the 20s that's worth what Stafford would do for this team? A mid round talent inside linebacker who needs 2 years to develop before he makes a minor impact on the defense? Mhm.

If we could get Stafford for any less than a 1st, I'd be all over it.

I'd trade our 2nd for him in a heartbeat.

I'd bet Cutler gets a vagina before he drops his habit of INT machine.
If Lions releases Matt - then I'm game. If not - he can take a hike.

Well - he bitches a lot more than he throws INTs if anything. :) [And he throws INTs a lot. As in - A LOT.]

With Stafford just remember that he's made a hell of a lot of throws in his career already and he's taken a lot of hits in the process. I'd be worried about what his mid to late career is going to look like under that kind of physical stress. His shoulder has to have some damage in it by now.

Won't have to trade for him, he'll probably be cut.

He's going to get traded not cut. There aren't enough quality QB's in the NFL right now. Look at what happened with Bradford this year and then realize that the perception is that Stafford is at least twice as valuable as Bradford.

If Detroit's new regime wants to go in another direction, they'll try and trade him. But they won't get much, teams will know they can just sign him instead of giving up a pick if he gets cut. Especially if Detroit is asking for a first or second rd pick.

I'm fine with any day 3 pick. Brandon Marshall came at 5th - and I think the price is fair with that too.

Is Stafford a bit of a dodo, though?

Like Brett Favre was at 27?

Somebody is going to bite hard on him for a 1st round pick next year. Maybe a couple of picks.

How that? Because you hate Geno? All good/great QBs have always had a true #1 wideout or TE to throw to Geno hasn't. The only reason Fitz is having a good/ok year is because of the talent around him.

Damn why keep it up??? When your head coach chose an injured QB (Fitz) to start over a sore QB (Geno) speaks volumes.
You can rant all you want but the only way Geno starts is if Fitzs is knocked out of the game. I wish we had a qb better than Fitz but we don't in fact Geno is still on this team because we can't find anyone better at that salary. JMO
