I don't miss the point -- you don't seem to understand we couldn't care less what you think. You're just a little postage stamp avatar on the internet. You post this stuff 1,000 times and wonder why it doesn't seem to have any affect -- it's because it's pathetic. It makes you sound like someone who fears rejection from Tebow fans moving on.

There are smack talkers from other teams here, there are numerous posters here that don't claim to be Jets fans that are just hear to harp on Tebow negatively. You can live with some fans of Tebow -- just don't get attached and look for permanent friends on the internet who will stick with your for decades.. You'll make it.

    1. Next man up? I agree with those that say he was only #2 because they had other uses for him on the field and didn't want to dress 3. That is why I believe he was listed as a "shared" #2 in Denver, even in his rookie year when rules were in place not allowing usage of #3 quarterbacks.

    2. H had 3 months worth of reps last yoear and still couldn't throw worth a shit. Strong arm, too bad when he threw it, the ball saw more dirt than receivers.

    3. Best chance? based on what? Sanchez sucking could still be better than Tebow.

    4. How is him starting for the Jets going to help the salary situation when they are stuck with Sanchez's contract? Any takers around the league going to relieve the Jets from it? Thought not.

    5. ... don't know enough about McElroy to comment.

    6. Again, I'm not so sure he wasn't already the #2 for reasons discussed under #1.

Surprise, Surprise, a Teblower thinks Tebow should start...

I didn't even have to read the post to know what it said.

Let me guess, it had something to do with how he's a "winner", he has intangibles, he has such a bright future he just hasn't had the opportunity to show it, etc.. sprinkle in some Sanchez/McElroy bashing and you have the quintessential Teblowing post.

    Rules of Teblowing-
1.) Always defend your boy, anytime, anywhere -even if its the slightest criticism
2.) If anyone says anything negative about Tebow call him or her "haters" - nobody could be reasonable and not adore Tebow.. duh
    3.) Applaud/cheer on/ defend your fellow Teblowers
4.) Sense of humor??? What's that???

Now you guys have a list of formal regulations to take with you to the Jacksonville Jaguars or Calgary Stampeders message boards, or wherever Tebow may end up next year.

You forgot the most important one: Always, always assume Tebow's shortcomings are someone else's fault.

    - Low completion percentage? Dropped passes.
    - Most fumbles per game in the entire league? Bad O-Line.
    - Took tons of stupid sacks? Bad O-Line.
    - Shits the bed for the first 55 minutes of every game? Bad play calling.
    - Piss poor passer of the football? Shouldn't have messed with his mechanics.

...and even if the defense carries him with a very stellar 60 minute performance.

    always remember...

    Tebow inspired them to perform.

Give him credit for defensive performance.

Whenever his whole CAREER completion percentage is questioned... hurry and point to a game where Andrew Luck struggled.

Get offended at any reference to Tebow being a punt protector or RB.

Give him more credit for 5 minutes of play than the guys that played for 60 minutes.

Kick and scream at anyone who doesn't see it that way.

Insist his throwing motion from behind his head is similar to Peyton Manning... (that was my favorite.)

Compare him to a young Elway and Steve Young, and insist Tebow is the same. Ignore any JaMarcus Russell comparisons.

...I think that about covers it.

Tebots have no reason to trash talk McElroy. He made Tebow cry and completely outperform him in the 2009 SEC championship game. Tebow needs to bow down to McElroy.

I don't want to trash talk McElroy -- I love the guy. I have a genuinely held belief that his arm strength and overall strength make him more of a career #3.

I don't rally base that on head to head games with Tebow -- because of course, Tebow beat some good quarterbacks in his career, such as Sam Bradford with the national championship on the line. So that argument doesn't get very far -- it ends up with Kellen Moore as the King of All, and I have concerns about his arm strength as well.

That's because it's a false premise to begin with. Why should they agree with it. There are different categories of fandom. I have my teams, the Gators, the Heat, and Giants, which I root for regardless of who is on the team.

Then there are players I am a fan of... D. Wade, Lebron, Tebow, etc... that I would be a fan of regardless of what team they played for (I was a Lebron fan before he went to Miami).

Your argument is non-sensical. There is no rule or reason to how and why you should be a fan. It doesn't matter if Tebow wears the same pink sports bra that I wear under my work suit and that is why I like him. A person has the right to like anyone and anything for any reason they so choose. You and anyone else have no right to validate peoples' reasons.

There has always been a club or sense of shared in-joke about Tebow, going back to his early days and the Chuck Norris jokes, or the "not gay if its with Tebow" jokes. He's got a memorable name, he's a baller, he's unconventional -- he just fascinates for some reason, negative and positive. No explaining why people follow him around on the internet to criticize him, just like there's no explaining why people are fans of anything.

A similar thing is coalescing around "Johnny Football." He's got a cool nickname, is a baller, and will win the Heisman.

If Johnny Football wins the Heisman this year, then follows it up with a National Championship next year, right in the middle of the spotlight, it's not hard to imagine him having a fandom following.

Sure, I understand all that. But aside from pink bras, most people follow GOOD players.

Never seen such a huge fanbase latch on to the nuts of a mediocre player like that before.

It could be the fact that the Internet has blown up recently and around the time he played for the Gators and they are a national team that everybody knows. People started spending more time scouting players for there future fantasy players, the Gators were on TV everyday. It is just the pentacle of the Internet hit all at the same time.

Social media makes memorable names into a house hold name.

You sound worse than the crazy Tebow fans who reference college. If there was such a thing as Internet credibility you lost that card.

I think his following goes beyond his college career. Most of the hooplah surrounding him was what a great guy he was, leadership, charisma, a guy who "won't let himself fail," believes in himself.... that and his faith, I believe makes him a lightning rod for both critics and fans alike.

A lot of people simply love what goes on in his head. It really is a breath of fresh air when we are used to the prima donnas that plague the sports world.

Nothing wrong with any of that, and I admire it as well.

Unfortunately, people get lost in it. Make excuses for him and give him exaggerated credit for his role in things. People have invested a LOT in Tebow (especially emotionally) that even a criticism of his game gets denied and taken as a personal attack. I've seen it to some degree with certain players, but with Tim Tebow, it has gotten to such a rediculous level. Never quite seen anything like it.... all for a kid who is REALLY struggling making the transition from college to pro.

Wonder if and when Tebow is out of the spotlight, if there will be another Tim Tebow who gets escalated like he was and then torn down when he doesn't succeed. The pedistal he was put on was a pretty high one for many. Much longer fall if it doesn't work out.

Serious question, do you honestly think Tebow's one hour windup and lack of accuracy in passes makes him a starter? Id rather have a noodle arm who can place a good pass into the hands of his receivers.
