Bills don't finish last in the AFC East. First time since 2007 when they finished 2nd! They will miss the playoffs, like they have done since 1999. They also will not win a playoff game, something they have not done since 1995! But to be serious, they are a QB away. Their problem, and right now it's too soon to fully judge, but it seems the Bills made a mistake trading for Watkins. With how deep the WR position was (in hindsight) they could have kept their first rounder and grabbed ODB or Mike Evans. Maybe in the long run Watkins will separate him from those two, but if he doesn't that could keep them back. A QB is important, but the team is almost there to being a playoff team. For the first time in a long time, I realistically considered them a playoff team and a team that could win a game in the playoffs.
The first time the Bills finish with a non-losing season in a decade! Also the largest point differential (46) in a decade.
Nice season for the Bills. Hate the Bills trolls on this board but I have nothing against the Bills. Very dedicated fan base in a city struggling financially. If Jets aren't in contention I will not mind them do well. On the other hand, I am happy to see those Bills trolls eat crow.
Also, fifth time in team history that a positive point differential fails to make the playoffs.......... Utterly deflating...........
Every year there are at least 4 or 5 teams with a positive point differential that don't make the playoffs, San Diego was +119 in 2010 and didn't make it. Just look forward to the end of next season when they will move into a tie for the eighth longest post season drought, you still have 11 years till they tie the all time record though.
I think he was referring to the points differential thing - you guys are +46 but have to face the patriots. Not a slam dunk that you finish with a positive points differential. By the way guys- I wouldn't put much stock in the Bills positive points differential anyway. Keep in mind they played our terrible Jets twice...+55 in those 2 games. Other than that they looked like they have looked for the better part of a decade. Lots of close games with too many losses
The defense is fucking solid tho, no denying that. They manhandled Green Bay. Too bad they can't play decent ball against NE. They routinely get cockslapped by NE.
Eh, I hear ya, but you guys aren't a playoff team. You guys are improved and deserve a lot of credit for having some serious talent at key positions, but a playoff team wipes the floor with Oakland in a must-win spot. As others have said, you guys are a QB away. You aren't going anywhere with Orton. Edit: I'm also surprised that statistic is true. Seems way too low. Either way, you guys had a solid season. Just get a real QB.
