We'll talk about your epic fail of a season when your 2- 6. Until then enjoy your Super Bowl, like I told one of your other Dolphag buddies, When you've had your ass handed to you 17 out 22 times the last decade + a 2 game winning streak against the Jets is like carnival on S Beach. You guys won at home, if you are as good as you say that's what you do in the division. It doesn't erase the choke job against the Colts and the asskicking by the Falcons or Chargers. You guys were better then us tonight and you won. You guys played like a team that had it's season on the line and we played like we overlooked you. Don't confuse the two with you guys being a quality football team. Your still one dimensional and at some point it will get exposed. Until then enjoy your Super Bowl. The fact that you guys have actually propped yourselves up on a pedestal because we played awful against your best is going to make the beatdown you receive at the Meadowlands so much sweeter. Come back when we're division champs and you guys are fighting to finish .500.
Blargh blargh blargh blargh blargh. Who cares about the last decade? Yes, I admit that a two game streak beating a division rival is a great thing. Seems you would be pretty happy about it, no? Yes, we got beaten by the Falcons and the Colts and Chargers. They're good teams that had it together. Can't take anything away from them. We did win at home. As you say, it's what we have to do to have a shot at winning the AFC East.....Who we are now 2-0 against. If Rex Ryan is overlooking division foes, I'd suggest you guys start looking for a new HC right now. If he, or anyone on the Jets did that, they don't need to be playing football anymore. Seriously. How can anyone overlook a division team, especially with the outright division lead on the line. You can say we aren't a quality football team, and, that's fine. We are a pretty good team, and better than we were last year. Sexy Rexy couldn't manage to gameplan to stop the Wildcat, nor any other formation pretty much. I don't know who you're talking about when you say all this "If you are as good as you say" stuff. I've never said anything about how good this team is. I really haven't gotten a real good read on them thusfar. We started out 0-3 last year, and, won the division. It's possible that we can do it again. Yes. Your team...Well, portions of it....Played awful. Kerry Rhodes needs to find a new career. Jenkins and Revis were about the only ones on your D that I was impressed with at all. Maybe you will beat us in the Meadowlands. But...Then again...Isn't that what you are supposed to do? I guess that won't be special either, will it? Better hope you guys come to play agasint the AFC East for the rest of the year.
You should care about the last 10 years if you care about your team. It pissed me off that New England owned us and was winning* Super Bowls so I don't know how if your a fan of your team it didn't bother you that we owned you. Besides all I ever hear about from Phish fans (many of whom weren't even alive) is about the handpicked schedule 17-0 team. I would imagine by your logic that doesn't matter than too. I'll give you the Colts being a good team as they are an elite team but you choked away the game. The verdict is out on Atlanta as they were thoroughly dismantled by the Pats. I had season tix for San Diego up until this season and as long as Norv Turner is there I will refuse to call them a good football team. I will say they are talented but not good. I was ridiculed by Charger fans for even suggesting that they should have kept Turner and let LT go... he's not the same back and he is done. He may have flashes but he is done. Maybe overlooking isn't the right word, more like overconfident. Reading too many press clippings about how great they are. I think the general feeling was our D is so good that we'll stop whatever gimmick you throw at us. I'd say your an ok team with something that gives teams fits. Your secondary is garbage and your LB's are average at best. Your QB has proved that he can make good decisions with the ball but he wasn't really asked to win the game. Ricky and Ronnie are both very good and your OL played above it's head tonight. Maybe you come back from 0-3 to win the division but the AFCE wasn't handed the cakewalk we were last year and as long as that bitch Brady is in the division regardless of what either of us think or say it still goes through Cheatsboro. I do know that your schedule gets a tad harder than ours over the next few weeks and we'll both find out an awful lot about our teams.
What purpose does it serve to worry about the last 10 years? Heck..What good does it do to worry about last year? What's in the past is past, and, doesn't really apply at all to the season at hand. If i'm going to worry about the past, I'll go back to the NFL's only undefeated season. Crowing about that does about as much good as crowing about the AFC East Championship last year. Nothing. Same as the head to head matchups with the Jets, which I think we hold a winning mark on, despite the last decade. I am proud of the history of my team, and have been a fan since that season in 72 (I'm 42), but I don't fool myself into thinking that it has any relevance to today or this season. I agree with you that the road to the AFC East goes through NE. There's really no way to say it doesn't. I don't think our secondary is that bad. Many of those plays Edwards made tonight were pretty good coverage, but just ungodly plays by him. Sometimes you can't fault the secondary, which is young at CB and lacking in coverage talent at S. I can agree that our ILBs leave something to be desired. They are right at just above average I'd say...AA is better in coverage, and, CC is better agasint the run. OUr OLBs are pretty good, but have flaws. I see no reason that we can't win the AFCE again. It will be harder, but, we have a better team this year than we did last. I think we'll pretty much have to nearly run the table in the AFE to do it, though. I can also agree that the next three weeks will do a great deal to tell both teams were they are at. I don't think the Jets overlooked the Dolphins or were overconfident. I think Ryan and Co just got out coached. The D looked lost, and, had almost no answers all night. In Ryan's presser, he sounded like a guy that was furious he got beaten by something he was determined not to get beaten by (Namely, the Wildcat). There are just lots of wrinkles you can put into that formation to do different things. It's not as easy to beat when you don't have the personell the Ravens have. And actually, yes...Henne was asked to win the game, pretty much. He had to drive us the length of the field in crunch time. And he did. I'm pretty pleased about that.
I'm gonna disagree with you on that, how many plays did he spend watching Ronnie Brown and Ricky and even Pat White on the last drive run the gimmick? He wasn't even in there on the winning TD. I still think he should have been called for grounding but I'm not 100% clear on the rule so it's possible I'm wrong. That in all likely hood would have sent into OT and the way both defenses were playing likely meant whoever got the ball would win. I'll give you that he got those completions to Camarillo on 3rd down but Coleman was beaten badly on the 1st and Lowrey was out of position on the other. He never even faced a legit pass rush all night. I think if Rex had to do it over he would have done things differently. The good thing is he'll get a chance at redemption. The bad thing about it is that you may lose your next two and all of a sudden we get a desperate Miami team again who needs to win to keep their season alive. I'm confident we get you guys at home but I just hope that the Raider game doesn't turn into a look ahead spot on the road. That place has been a house of horrors for us over the years. I like Smith , loved him at Utah but he's the lone bright spot in your secondary. He's young so he is going to do stupid things. Allen has always been bad and I think Wilson while a big hitter does alot of stupid things and isn't great in coverage. That's going to kill you against the Saints. Edwards made some nice plays but on the reviewed TD he beat his man but it was still an amazing catch, the Clowny play he beat 2 guys and the Edwards TD he beat his guy. I don't think other than the reviewed play Edwards did anything extraordinary.
