When I have time...I'll make a huge thread on it. As of right now, all I can say is this...The Red Sox ONLY averaged 30,000+ two times during the 80's which is horrid and lets not even talk about the attendance during the 1st 10 years of fenway park
Lets not talk about attendance during a foregone era! The Rays only averaged 30k + fans once during their decade in existance. What does that say? Also, don't make it a thread. Post it in here.
Are you really that stupid? Do you even realize that they had an average rank of 5.8 in attendance in the '80s? Or that the first 10 years of Fenway saw them lead the league in attendance 3 times, and finish 3rd twice, and 4th twice? Or that from 1967-1978 they were either 1st or 2nd every single year? Or that from 1988 to now they've failed to average 30,000 just 4 times? You're the dumbest person alive.
THAT IS ENOUGH!! Quit destroying his arguments with solid facts and truth!! His hearsay is all he has going =(
This thread is starting to look better and better by the second! What a come from behind victory from the Angels in Boston baby! What a choke job the Red Sox pulled off tonight, blowing a solid lead in the playoffs! I'm not worried about the Rays, we should finish off the White Sox tomorrow with Sonnanstine on the mound and you know what? If the Rays lose, we will be TOUGH to beat in game 5 @ the Trop! The best home team in all of baseball with either Shields or Kazmir on the mound, I love our chances. As far as the Red Sox...Like I said before this game tonight, the Angels are now ONLY one win away from a game 5 in CA...The Red Sox WILL lose a game on the road and when that happens... I will be the 1st one to say... "I love it"
Like I said... The Angels have a shot dude...They just proved that tonight! Do you watch baseball a lot? Do you understand that the team with the best record in all of baseball is never out until the last out of the series? Now you should. The Angels are one win away from a game 5 @ home and as we all know, the Red Sox have had a LOT of problems on the road here in 08 and Beckett wont be the one to save them come game 5.
I was right. Like I said...Beckett has A LOT to prove before I can call him one of the "Best clutch pitchers in October"... A LOT! He's been far from great here in 2008, And you know what? He pitched a pretty average game here in game 3! He had like what? 90+ pitches going into the 5th? Way to work the bullpen.
this thread isn't looking any better, it is already wrong you dumbass. I bet all 5 Rays fans are starting to get nervous. White Sox are now 2 games away from ALCS!
Never before have I totally despised a team solely on the basis of a single fan. In any sport. I can no longer say that.
It's almost like you just started watching baseball this year. Josh Beckett was MVP of the World Series with the Marlins, and MVP of the ALCS with the Red Sox. His playoff record is 6-2. In both of his two losses, he pitched into the eight inning and gave up only one run. In one of those losses, he gave up only two hits, with nine strikeouts; three hits in the other, with ten strikeouts. And, even with that second loss, he was still named MVP of that series. It's our national pastime. Welcome aboard!
Well to be fair, Beckett is ridiculously inconsistent in his career, and typically for obvious reasons the times when he is in the playoffs just happens to be the periods when he is riding high
And that's the point here. It's not that he happens to ride high in the playoffs, it's that he comes to play like almost no other pitcher does. Even in his only playoff losses he did everything his team would need for a win. Pitching with injury last night, he still wasn't the reason the Red Sox lost. Not a great Beckett game, by any means, but the story last night was lack of production.
Ugh. I can't believe there are Jets fans who are also Bosox fans. I'm programmed to hate you, but... I... just.... can't.
Like I said... The White Sox have a shot dude...They just proved that tonight! Do you watch baseball a lot? Do you understand that the team with the best record in all of the AL Central is never out until the last out of the series? Now you should. The White Sox are one win away from a game 5 @ Tropicana Field and as we all know, the Rays have had a LOT of problems on the road here in 08 and Shields or Kazmir wont be the one to save them come game 5.
