Hell, let's sign all the free agents next year. It worked for the Patsies. Everyone talks about cap hell but this franchise has acted like it is in cap hel since Bradway and Tannenbaum took over. We let Coles, R. Thomas, McKenzie, Abe, S. Moss, Kendall, Hall, Mawae, Brien, Fergeson, leave to start for other teams in the last few years. Before that we got rid of Glenn, Coleman, Cox, Pfifer, Keyshawn, Farrior, and other starters that played at a high level for other teams. Building through the draft only works if you can keep the guys you drafted in the first place. The question is, when is the last time the Jets signed a big name free agent? The answer (Mawae, Vinny, Martin, Cox, etc.) were all under Parcells. Bradway was a bum and Tannenbaum is no better. Sure, they can draft some pretty nice players but they don't spend the money to keep or aquire the quality free agents necessary to build a winner. People worried about cap hell need to understand that our recent history is the worst case of cap hell without actually being all that close to the cap. There is a reason that teams unwilling to use the entire salary cap (i.e. Arizona) are perrenial losers.
Don't you believe that. Woody wanted the stadium in NY because it would have made twice the money it would have in NJ.
what I don't get is if Tannenbaum is supposed to be a cap genius why are the Jets always up against the cap despite the fact that we consistently lose quality free agents and never sign any? That doesn't look like cap genius to me it looks like cap clueless.
