I don't know if he would have gotten hurt on the Jets. Different situation, impossible to predict. I was just telling you the comparison was unfair. If Edwards still has his speed, then we should resign that beast! He's got existing chemistry with Sanchez, and is a legit deep threat. If he's healthy, there's no reason not to at least call him.. unless of course management really does know some crazy secret that we don't know.

Sign Edwards, if healthy to a incentive laden deal.

That's about it at the position. Holmes, Edwards, Kerley, back up's and an early round WR.

So many other holes and weaknesses.

I don't even know why I'm bothering to indulge you when you're clearly too stupid to understand, but let's spin the record one more time:

First of all, thanks for the pop-ups in the first link.

With that being said, who really gives a damn what these players do off the field (as long as they don't ride a motorcycle with no helmet or do something else that will keep them off the field). Give me Lawrence Taylor and his cocaine habit as long as the guy shows up every week and gives 100% on the football field. Besides, we gave a huge contract to Santonio Holmes who's off the field antics are no better.

If the front office believed that Holmes was the better player, make him the priority. However, failing to pursue Edwards when the price tag dropped (or when the price on Holmes went up) due to off the field behavior is hypocracy at best.

In hindsight it is clear that resigning Holmes to that huge deal was a mistake. It is also clear that Braylon Edwards was an asset that this offense badly missed. While he gave the front office plenty of excuses to let him go, doing so turned out to be the wrong call.

Don't thank me, thank Fox. Anyway, what are you using - IE4? Get yourself a decent browser with a pop-up blocker.

Congratulations, you along with the entire rest of the world are blessed with 20/20 hindsight. Regardless of what Braylon brings to the field, last summer he looked odds on to be missing a significant amount of football due to his legal troubles, and we didn't even see what he was like in the dressing room. The singular lack of calls from any of the players to re-sign him might give an indication to that, although that's purely supposition.

Holmes and Edwards are both liabilities off the field. The FO had to choose one of them because having your #1 and #2 receiver unavailable for non-football reasons would be stupidity in the extreme, and at the time Holmes was definitely the better choice.

Holmes was and still is the better choice, however what many people don't realize is how well they both opened each other's game up. They were a great duo at 1 & 2 and stretched the field and kept the defense on its toes. Edwards was also a great blocker and physical player. Plax was not an adequate replacement for him. I say bring back the guy who has good existing chemistry with Sanchez. Hell, maybe even keep Plax for cheap to use mostly in the red zone.

So let me get this straight :

1 of those incidents happened when he wasn't even a Jet so I doubt that would play a factor, considering also that it was(like the rest of his "transgressions") off the field and didn't affect Team-Play.

The Bar fight thing was a non-starter 'cause Braylon was never charged with anything(his dumbass "cousins" were) despite what Deadspin or the Post or whatever newspaper said. Oh and that report was dated August of last year. No news about that since then. Nothing. (the Tweet he made, then erased; then tried to claim someone hacked his account, was dumb, though)

The DUI is the only thing one can really hold against Braylon 'cause he was driving drunk despite the wrong reasons for being pulled over(tinted windows, my ass. Try "African-american in a nice-looking car"). It was a mistake that Braylon paid for.

To be honest though, what all these 3 so-called incidents have in common are that they occured OFF-THE-FIELD. It's nothing like what Holmes did which affected the Jets team all season long....

But you can just go believing what you like as to why you think the Jets Brass didn't want Braylon back. I mean it's not like he priced himself out of their range or something..... 'Cause money is NEVER an issue with athletes.

See you are looking at this from hindsight. Coming into FA we had Tone who had performed in a big game before and won us several games and we had a WR who was coming off a reported bar fight, another off the field mistake that if found guilty could have him suspended. Back in FA we didn't know that Tone would have problems on the field. I was hoping we would sign both back, but at the time nothing said Braylon wouldn't have another off the field issue and Tone did nothing wrong with us in his time as a Jet at that point

True and I can understand why the uncertainty of Braylon's legal situation would cause some pause....However, make no mistake about it, Braylon wanted Holmes money. He was refused, tried to go find another team to give him a similar or close-to-similar deal and struck out; then when he returned to Tanny to offer a more reasonable deal, I suppose Tanny told him to take a hike.

This was more about MONEY than anything else. It's always BEEN about Money.

Johnny was insinuating that the Jets didn't want him for reasons other than Money which is untrue. It's always about Money.
