Was it just me. Or did Elam seem to get burned all game long.

Does anyone think that getting a QB may be a bigger priority? By getting Favre this year, the message to me was that they have no confidence in Clemens to lead the team in the future. I think Brett is one and done with the Jets. But it may also depend on how the team finishes. Either way..I think Clemens may not be the guy next year.

As for Elam...he's not a championship safety, but the Jets seem to be hanging their hat with him. Eric Smith should be back soon...no? I think the Jets should go...

    (1) CB (2) S (3) WR (4) QB (5) D-lineman (6) O-lineman.

We didn't Rush anyone and we still had guys several yards off the receiver. It boils down to no recognition or no communication. Who's covering who? When do I allow him to get picked up by the Line backer?

I thought this game really showed everyone what we should focus on in the draft. Our secondary was awful. It should be the number one priority next year.

Elam isn't good in coverage. I don't know why this comes as a surprise to anyone. Neither is Smith though.

Elam has a knack for causing turnovers though, so he's a good player to have out there when facing a team that doesn't have an above average passing attack.

I think Harris coming back will help the secondary a lot because he will allow our pass rushers to do just that. He's also better in coverage than Bowens/Spencer. But our lack of pressure absolutely kills the secondary.

Also, I would try putting one of our CB's at the safety position against teams like Indy, Denver and NE. Against teams like Bal, Ten, and Pitt Elam will be helpful.

I was at the game and I feel like elam was exploited because of law consistently being out of position. On passing downs law had to continually be put into position by Elam. Hes not superman and hes too slow for a wet field....I wouldve rather seen lowery out there more

Did you or anyone else watch ESPN Monday Night countdown? Trent Dilfer did a great and very interesting breakdown of the Jets' defense. LBs and DBs were very sloppy in their coverages and tackling all game long.
How can this be explained? I don't know for sure. Some days it just happens. This is how the Titans probably felt last weekend. Everything they had done all year suddently wasn't working. They bounced back with a great performance though. Hopefully the Jets will also.
