Well we have 4 QBs now, so bringing in a vet would mean cutting 2 of them....and he'd essentially be signed as a 3rd stringer.....

    Brad Johnson??

many great QB's didn't have mentors, and Sanchez may not either. I'm more than willing to let him go out and start from day 1 if he proves to be better than either of the QB's we have on the roster come the start of the season.

Quarterbacks develope under coaches much more so than they develope under veteran players. No need to bring in a veteran off the street. They have 4 arms for training camp and that is the right number. If Sanchez isn't ready for openning day then Clemens will be. And I wouldn't mind seeing Clemens spending his entire career as the Jets backup QB, much like Pat Ryan did. A team must have a backup who know can play and knows the offense.

Why would you worry about learning from KC.

    He learned from Favre!

Wasn't that one of the big advantages of having Favre according to the now MIA Favre-heads.

I'm sure Kellen has an epic butt-slap now. That's a plus.

    You know what's funny.
Is when I rewatch the games almost every sideine shot Ratliff was right there next to Favre. TD's, INT's Talking, Learning etc...

I mean almost all the time just soaking it up.
KC seemed more calm and collected.

    OAN..
I hope KC shocks people because I'm a JETS fan not because I'm a KC fan or a Sanchez or Favre or Penny...etc...

We should all be rooting for success for our players not failure just so we can say I TOLD YOU!

Yeah that's the best part about drafting a great QB prospect.. putting an end to all this "I believe in myself" crap coming from other QBs on the roster.

Why does anybody think that Sanchez and Clemens should be allowed to compete for the position? That would probably be the worse thing the Jets could do unless they sign Clemens to an extension now which doesn't seem very likely. If he plays well they lose him to FA anyway. If he doesn't then it just sets Sanchez back a year. I could understand it if Sanchez just can't get it or reports late because of his contract but even then I would think a vet with nothing to lose would be better than Clemens.

Clemens to Sanchez ........ no no no, you want to take your time behind the line and follow that receiver with your eyes the entire way down field, now throw it to him!

Who mentored Peyton Manning? John Elway? Troy Aikman? This veteran mentoring thing is a bunch of crap. Isn't that what the QB coach (Matt Cavanaugh) is for????????

Well said sir... Rex and Schotty have already stated they liked the work Clemens was doing in the voluntary off season workouts. I hope it continues and the QB battle with Sanchez is a good one. Hope they both perform well. Only means well for the team.
