hypothetically, Pats get a FG, recover an onside kick, and score a TD. 100% chance the Pats go for the 2 and the win right?

Good clock management. Right move was getting the 3 quickly.

nah I bet they go for OT, outside of the missed tackle on Crabtree they've dominated the second half.

Also is it a penalty for a SF player to just bat the ball out of bounds instead of trying to catch it?

And at the end of the day, the Pats take the L and are now 1-3 against the NFC West.

imagine if SF had fumbled on the exchange as they'd been doing in the first half

Definitely not the result I was looking for, but gotta love the no quit of the team, despite shooting themselves in the foot over and over.

The Jets would find a way in the SB to fumble the hand off on a kneel to win the game

In other news, the 49ers swept the entire AFC East. Very impressive.

They looked like the Jets in the first half

Defense was inconsistent as usual. The same flaw as always showed up, if Brady is off for a half, the rest of the team has trouble picking up the slack. This could be the game that people point at if you go on a SB run, or this is the game people point at if you lose in the playoffs as the "scheme or game plan" to beat you guys
