Wow, this thread began before the game ended = fail. Is there a perfect team in the NFL currently? No. Everyone has their things to work on. We as Jets fans know they need to fix the penalties and ball handling. We've seen it before and I believe it can be fixed. 6 - 2 and atop the division. Keep your chin up, it's a long season. Note: The SOJ stigma will remain in most of us until a Super Bowl has been won, as simple as that.
My question to Rex would be, why wasn't he screaming at the officials to put the time back on the clock that ticked away while they tried to decide whether Sanchez got in or not??? That 10 seconds or so could have been very helpful, but has been overlooked because of the eventual outcome. Terrible job by the officials and terrible job by Rex for not realizing this and pointing it out.
Where do you get that, studying Hard Knocks footage munching on doritos and sipping stale beer at 4am every night?? WTF do you know about how Ryan drives his players. There are plenty of strict coaches out there with dumbass players who get stupid penalties no matter how much practice they get. Maybe you should start a "Bring Mangini Back" petition Yeah no kidding, even at his unexperienced self, I would take Rex Ryan over the best of Mangini, Edwards & Parcells combined. Rex is the man, and he's only going to get better
Well, Rex does love the spotlight and plays to an audience be it the media or the fans. He's a player's coach and as such, refuses to say anything publically that could be construed as harshly negative. However, when he's saying things like "Schotty did a masterful job", it kinda lacks something like say..credibility? Remember that interview with Baghdad Bob in Saddam's palace saying that "american troops will never enter Baghdad" with american troops riding by in humvees waving in the background. Just a bit of a credibility gap wouldn't you say.. That's what's Rex has to avoid. Being positive at all costs will cost him credibility. First with the media and fans, finally with the players at some point.
No, why don't we go even further into the absurd. Maybe we could start a bring back Kotite or Walton if you are hellbent on being ridiculous. Sorry, but this team showed nothing yet again and if it wasn't for a bonehead mistake by the opposition HC, we would have lost this game. Rex has been messing up lately and needs to be called on it. From not challenging a reception yesterday to 12 men on the field, running out of timeouts, all of that is on Rex. He's already gotten his free ride last year. This is Rex 2.0 and just like we expect more out of Sanchez, we need to expect more out of Rex too..
Rex has not had a very good last 2 games. The burning of the time outs and the general feeling that I get of the team not being ready to play at the start of the game are both on the coach. He's also very arrogant, still, on the sidelines. I know it worked, but kicking long after they scored the TD was very risky. One first down would have ended the game.
