That was a such a fun year, I really thought we were going to finally make the SB. I went to games for 6 straight weeks(4 home, 2 road) and I was close to going to Denver but I wanted to hold out for Miami if they won. Maybe I could have helped? Thinking back they won 10 straight games I went to that year which is the best in all my years of going to games(started going in 1990). 1998 10 games: Ind, Mia, Atl, Buf, Car, Sea, @Mia, @Buf, NE, Jax playoffs) 2002 5 games: Mia, Buf, Den, GB, Ind playoffs) 2004 4 games: Cin, Buf, SF, Mia 2008 4 games: Ari, Cincy, KC, SL 2011 4 games: Dal, Jax, Mia, SD not a lot of win streaks, another reason to love that '98 season.
I originally voted 2010, but I agree that the 1998 squad was the better team all around. However, I feel the 2010 team had a much better shot at reaching the SB going into the AFC title game. That 98 Broncos team was a once a decade type team, and even with the 10-0 lead, I never felt confident that the Jets could win that game. Going into Pitt in 2010, I expected a victory. The Jets had gone up there and beat them before, they just came off huge upsets on the road over Brady and Manning. The team wasn't as good as the 98 squad, but they were on fire in the playoffs, and should have beaten Pitt if it wasn't for a horrid first half. On the other hand, that 2010 Pitt team would have been blown out by our 98 team.
I wouldn't be so sure. The 2010 Steelers were the best defensive team in football, and had the 12th ranked offense. In their building they are very tough to beat.
