I'm thinking of taking Vick, and nabbing VY as my backup. Risky, but Vick is such a sexy pick.

#8 in my PPR with 5 pt bonuses for 100 yards for Rbs and wrs is tough. Think CJ, AP, Charles, McCoy, Avian, and Rice will be gone. Will probably go with Vick and hope for McFadden/Gore/Mendenhall round 2.

Ugh I hate leagues that have bonuses like that... so arbitrary. Player 1 gets 99 yards and gets 9 points, players 2 gets 100 yards and a TD for 21 points (I think TDs may be a touch overvalued as well, why I like ppr).

Anyways, I have the 8th pick in my most important league and I'm targeting Andre Johnson or Michael Turner (probably wouldn't take him this early in ppr). I'm hoping some people ahead of me reach for Rodgers and Vick so I can grab Rice, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Tough call. Vick is such a risk/crazy reward pick.
In a PPR I might look at Andre Johnson at #8 (although I'm in the minority who ranks Calvin ahead of him as the top WR).

In my non-PPR, I took Vick at #8, but ppr makes a big difference and I knew a top-flight WR would come back to me.

I do agree that, after those top 6, I would not go RB and take my chances in Rd. 2.

I got the #1 pick in my PPR league. it's also a keeper league as of next year...so if anyone wants to chime in, please do.

it actually sucks this year, because there's no consensus #1. I think i'm gonna go with AP, since having mcnabb in there will help take the focus off him (a little). Chris Johnson's contract situation makes things complicated. While Arian Foster beasted last year, do you use the #1 pick in a keeper league on a 1 hit wonder so far?

I got the #3 pick last year and took ray rice. he was incredibly inconsistent, so i'm hoping to get it right this time

Arian, Peterson, Rice, and Charles are the 4 choices you can make.

In the PPR league I mentioned before, I ended up swapping 1sts and 2nds to get Charles at #4. Wouldn't have gone with Vick in the end.

I did take Vick #1 overall in one league, but you can play a QB in the flex, so QBs are that much more valuable.

In a ppr keeper league I would probably take Charles first. AP is 3 year older, in a worse offense, and a worse receiver.

Today, I'm taking Foster with the first pick. Chris Johnson would be in the discussion if he weren't holding out.

i really like charles and i'm considering trading down to the 3rd pick (i think he'll be taken 3rd). guy with the 3rd pick wants to trade his. so i offered him his 3rd pick for my 1st pick, and swapping his 2nd and 4th round picks with mine (it's a snake draft, so i'd move up two spots in each of those rounds)

I am going with Charles as my first pick this year. Charles should be a great producer this year.

took AP #1 in that league and got charles #4 in my other league. pretty happy about that

my 2nd RBs are a bit more iffy. Deangelo Williams and Felix jones respectively.

i do however, have boss tight ends (not kevin). Clark and Antonio Gates.

after years of playing fantasy , especially in the league i had the first pick, i've realized more than a majority of the time people get absolutely little to no production out of their tight end slot. much easier to find a #3 wr than a stud tight end. to me, having one of the top 2 tight ends is like having an extra player

Now that questions have arisen about Arian Foster's hamstring, I don't think I've ever seen this much controversy over the first few picks of a fantasy football draft. Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, Ray Rice, Jamaal Charles, Chris Johnson, Michael Vick, and Aaron Rodgers are all candidates for the number one overall pick, right now.

I'm doing a draft for a league that starts two qb's tomorrow. Pretty sure I am gonna go qb qb to start the draft and let everything else fall as it may.

I'm in a PPR league. MCCoy makes the most sense to me.

I'm assuming AP goes first and I have 2nd pick.

Foster is not an option because of the injury and also not enough stat history to prove consistency.
Chris Johnson is out, he will get injured bc of his holdout.
    Rice doesn't score enough.
I had Charles last season. When a back gets that many carries the next season their prod suffers.

Huh? Charles only had 230 carries, 14th in the league, 100 less than Foster, 50 less than AP, and only 20 more than McCoy. He was 2nd in the league in yards because of his ridiculous 6.4 YPC but had one of the lightest workloads among premier RBs

Now that Chris Johnson's agreed to terms on a new contract, that's who I'm taking #1 overall.

I had the first pick in my standard league last week. I went AP. It just seemed like the most consistent pick. Good luck.
