Why does our defense look awful

    I agree, and think he will. He sounded patient in his press conference, but I don't think he will be too patient based on his comments regarding Geno a month or so ago to the effect that he started turning the ball over he would find a seat on the bench. He sure acted swiftly and decisively in axing Ik. I think the players will be focusing on blocking and tackling a lot more in practice this week.

    Talent deficiencies at QB, OG, TE, and perhaps S are bigger issues for me than worrying about Bowles. I think this team will be disciplined and have solid fundamentals.

    Everyone talking about the tackling last night has evidently forgotten that the same thing happened last year. With the new CBA there are no more 2-a-days and little live hitting and tackling. I'm sure they're rusty. The Jets players have had to learn a new offense and new wrinkles on D. There probably hasn't been a lot of time for focus on fundamentals in practice. If it's still an issue after the last preseason game, then we have cause to worry. Until then, I think it's a nonissue.
