    Conor Orr
Ryan Nassib told @ZBerm that the #jets are one of a few teams that have shown a heavy interest. Real possibility at 13 if the Bills pass?

I like Nassib, but I would be pretty pissed if we took him at #13

    LMAO!!!!

What Qb in this draft will make the Jets a contender in 13? What with all the other holes on the team, who will hit the ground running good enough to make up for the shabby team they were last year, who will do that?

Thanks for a laugh so early in the day.

Being a contender in 13 is out of the equation no matter who they draft. Team building is whats important right now. Jets should take a QB even if its a flyer.

Why is that? Do you envision us trading out of the No. 1 spot?

This is my guess also. They have to know that without a QB on the roster to promote it's going to be very hard to generate any buzz around the team this year.

I could see Dysert (or insert their guy here) going on the 39 depending on what the Jets did with the early picks. If they trade down for a spread of picks from the late 1st to early 3rd then the pressure on any given pick drops a lot and the incentive to grab the QB they really want increases.

Exactly. Taking a QB this year is not about contending in 2013. It's about contending in 2015 and at least having an upside shot in 2014.

The next year the Jets have a rookie QB taking over is probably the year before they are a potential contender and a couple of years before they seriously contend.

So if you take a QB in 2014 you're looking most likely at 2015/16 at the earliest. If you take a QB that's real this year then you have a shot in 2014 and a good one in 2015.

I just don't see the Jets standing pat at QB when doing so would cost them 365 days in the build process. Taking a QB doesn't guarantee results but not taking one almost guarantees not getting fast results.

    Not a first round talent.

EJ manuel is a better player.

There is no QB worth a top 15 pick.

    Get a grip.

Rex will field a top 10 defense. That is a given. Teams with top 10 defenses do t pick first.

Second, they won six, starting trash at the skill positions, and with a shit OC.

You are returning a healthy cast, whose greatest loss is...Dustin Keller? Now, hes a good player..,but he wasnt all that. Cumberland fills his role adequately.

We're already better at Rb, and down one guard, but is Slauson that much > then ducasse?
    Really?

So..minus Keller the talent level on offense is improved, by health alone.

And MM >>>>>>>>tony Sparano, and Schittenheimer.

So, defense basically the same, offense improved, schedule, much harder, but this team is well north of last years 6 wins.

Given that Rex understands NE offense, and Tampon Bay sucks, even with Revis, the unkown NE will be facing on Thursday night Vis-a-Vis the Jets new offense on a short week, opens up the very real possibility of starting out 2-0.

This is why you should stockpile QBs. You don't look for the gem. Instead you collect many and see if you harvested one.

I wouldnt mind trading down and drafting Nassib (or Geno for that matter) in the 20s. Fact is, we need a QB. You can not always wait until the following year. If someone who you think is a franchise QB, you have to pull the trigger.
