Asked this in another thread, no answer.

Who on the Jets roster right now is going to be rushing the passer.

Just Justin Taylor and Brian Thomas?

I wouldn't mind seeing 3-3-5 stack, now that the DL is shored up. Pace - Scott - Harris will make a good enough of 3 LB spot. This means Jets need to find an impact safety tomorrow...

Some guy Calfin Pase or something like that as well I think...

On a serious note, I'd like a guy to add to the mix as an edge rusher.. but Rex is making it pretty clear he doesn't absolutely need an OLB to rush the passer and puts a higher priority on big men up front clogging up the lanes.

Chris Carter would be a nice pick

OLB our of Fresno St. He is strong, fast, great motor and terrific edge rusher.

He's dropped this far because he is undersized at 6'1" 248.
But so was James Harrison, who never got drafted. And this guy reminds me of Brandon Graham of Michigan who the Eagles drafted last year. Non-stop motor.
Would be a very nice situational pass rusher for us. Compliments BT who is excellent against the run.

I'd trade up in the 4th to get him. That completes the front 7. Get a safety and we are set on D.

    my thinking is this ;

The FO has faith that the increase in talent and depth upfront, along with calvin pace being able to recover 100%, will allow us to have a much more effective pass rush. I'm guessing he saw something schematically that showed we weren't creating enough lanes up front.

I'm sure next year we take an impact OLB. It's much harder to find a quality pass rushing OLB than it is good D linemen. I think it'll also be calvin pace's last year since we could get some cap savings on his contract at that point

I'd say slot WR in the late rounds. I don't know how the WR will work out, but assuming Holmes is gone- Edwards, Cotchery, Draft Pick would be perfectly fine combined with LT and Keller

I'd LOVE to get Nick Toon in next years draft, I thought he might have declared for this year, but pulled out after the loss to TCU.
I thought Braylon and Cotch did a great job as a 1 - 2 tandem before, so if we did get someone in, I don't think we would need to break the bank in free agency.

His size isn't nearly as much of a concern with the big bodies on the line, too.

We all thought Rex might go OLB and try to shift to a more traditional pass rush. Instead, he beefed up the line with both picks. Certainly shows faith in Pace, but even more so, it shows faith in the way we've been generating pressure the past two seasons. With a beefed up lines, it's a lot easier to send his mixed fronts and imbalanced rushes and still keep enough men in coverage. I'd like to see an OLB for depth if nothing else, but it likely won't be a major impact one, as you said. The depth isn't there past Acho, nor is it there in FA.

I seem to remember some people thought that David Harris was too small at MLB, and Vilma too for that matter.

According to the value chart here's what we have left and what they are worth:

    126th pick - 46 points
    161th pick - 27 points
    194th pick - 14 points
    208th pick - 8 points

    Total value: 95 points

So if we traded our 4th, sixth, and seventh it would only get us up 13 spots.

Would rather not trade the 5th, so unless there's someone they're absolutely in love with at the top of the round we probably stay put.

David Harris is huge, I don't know who could possibly say that. Vilma is a little undersized for the 3-4

there's about a 20 lb difference between harris and vilma and a height difference also
