it's not a decision but the moment was drew coleman missing that peyton manning pass by centimeters. i think we would all agree that without that play, the jets have a good shot at making the super bowl. a centimeter closer and maybe coleman tips it and picks it off. even if he knocks it down it's a totally different game.
haha well I would agree the decision made by someone saying "Drew Coleman will be on this team" ranks in the top 10
Hmmmm... One that often gets overlooked but Bradway not putting that extra 500K in Coles tender thus allowing him to walk to the Skins. We then made the trade to the Titans for JMac. Too piss in our cheerios Bob Sanders was drafted two picks after the Titans selected Travis LaBoy with our pick.
As bad as Gholston has been its still early. I think the answer to the question has to be Dwayne Robertson. I don't know how many people followed the Jets during that draft, but we gave up 2 first rounders for him, plus all the money we paid Dwayne at the #4 spot. Nobody was upset with the pick at the time because he was hailed as the next Warren Sapp. Ooooo how wrong the experts were. Close second would be trading our first for Jolley and drafting Nugent with our second.
No, Gholston has to be on the list, probably number one. The only reason you could argue he isn't is because he's still young enough to prove people wrong a little. He was the 6th pick in the draft, and we haven't even gotten a contribution yet. I don't know how you could argue him not being on the list. Sure, every team drafts a turd. It does happen. And when it does happen, it's a big mistake.
Well what is the mistake, exactly? Maybe you felt differently, but during that draft, after Chris Long and Jake Long and Darren McFadden and Matt Ryan were off the board, I thought "well, I guess we have to take Gholston, here." It really wasn't a "Brady over Sapp" draft pick. Most people thought it was a pretty sound move at the time; drafting the top-rated pass rusher when you desperately needed a pass rusher. It's not like we had a couple picks later in the round and said "Gholston is the guy; we've got to trade up to get him." If you want to talk about Vernon Gholston being the biggest draft bust in Jets history, I'll listen. But every team drafts busts; not every team goes out of their way to make a massive trade and guarantee they can draft a bust.
As bad as Gholston have been, Kyle Wilson will be better than Leodis McKelvin. The 2nd round of the 2005 and the first round 2003 was however two retarded disasters.
I disagree. Yes Ed Reed is light years ahead of BT but BT is not a bust and although having some up and down seasons, he has been solid for us. This is my choice. CMart's career was definitely shortened because Hermie was a vet guy and didn't let the backups play. Lucky for us Derrick Blaylock was up after Martin's demise and LaMont's departure...
Love this one. Bradway thought he was being cute w/that trade down to pick up Jolley, draft Nugent & Miller in the 2nd round. What a disaster. Should have just gone BPA with Heath Miller.
Ive only been watching since 2005 so I don't remember to many bad decisions but I always felt Rex Ryan should have went for it on 4th down in the AFC:CG last season. We were down by 10, with 8 minutes left. Instead we punted it. meh its not the worst decision of all time tho, it just always bothered me.
c'mon people, it's not even close--2 words-- dwayne robertson. Think of the huge sucess the jets had in 2002--playoffs, big playoff win over the colts 41-0. playoff loss to the raiders. Remember who the players voted as the team mvp in 2002? Laverneas Coles. Terry Boobway next spring then tenders Coles with only a 1st round pick protection and Washington steals him for that and we get Washington's #1. Bradway then trades THAT number 1 (the number 1 pick we got for Coles), PLUS our own number 1 pick, PLUS a 4th round pick for the short, squat piece of crap Robertson-- then Dumbway signs him for about $40-50M. Robertson never made a pro bowl or even posted any solid numbers. They later try him at nose tackle in the 3-4 and he gets pushed all over the place. When you trade your team mvp from the previous year, PLUS YOUR own first round pick PLUS your 4th round pick you should get a better return that that short, fat piece of crap. I posted early and often that it was a terrible selection back then. Bradway's stupid choice of Bryan Thomas over Ed Reed in 2002 was topped the very next year by his ridiculous trade up for Robertson from a school known for basketball, not football! At least Gholston only cost us 1 number 1 pick.
herm edwards! it took 29 posts for someone to mention doug brien. that absolutely amazes me. let me give you herm for another on. hey herm dont fucking kneel down.
Doug brien gets unfairly dogged for that. Its all herm he played like a pussy and lost that game. 2 runs up the middle and a knee you play to win the game
As bad as Ghost pick was, it doesn't come anywhere near the Dslob fiasco. Dslob, as a NT, was run over by the opposing OLs on a constant basis. It made my stomach turn to see him pancaked on his ass on a belly run play. It just never failed. If at all, Ghost pick was a single pick. Dslob... cost us 2 picks in round 1. I'm taking Dslob as the crown jewel of Germ/Badway era. P.S. #2 is, of course, that pathetic Germ of a coach, Herm Edwards. (Or should I call him Herm the Worm?) P.S. #3? Who the fuck else? TERRY BRADWAY SUCKS ASS!
