Are there any Yankees fans left that have ANY faith left in Moose? What a piece of absolute crap.

What kind of faith? Faith that he will pitch 8 scoreless innings a game? No.

I have faith he will be a solid pitcher who can go 7 innings allowing no more than 2-5 runs. A good #4 pitcher.

By the way, why doesn't Posada ever catch Mussina? Does he not like him?

Mussina is particular. He likes Nieves better

Can someone explain to me why Abreu wasn't in the lineup with both ARod and Posada already out.. especially after consecutive three hit nights?

I guess Torre wanted to give Abreu the day off against one of the toughest lefties in baseball.

anyway, A-Rod might not play in the AS game because of the injury. In the year he was the leading vote-getter, too.

I never understood that, and all teams do it, and all announcers comment favorably on it. "It's a good day for so and so to sit because they're facing one of the best pitchers in the league". Why is that a good day to sit your best hitters?

What was Michael Kay talking about today? Farnsworth gives up a base hit.
The next guy lines into a double play. Morneau just misses a home run in the upper deck, it goes foul and he strikes out on the next pitch. And Kay says what a great inning of pitching by Farnsworth. WTF?

Or maybe the issue is that the difference between a "great" Moose performance and a day where no number of runs scored would win is thinner than any individual hair on my head.

He wasn't brought here to be a #4, and that's the best he's ever pitched.

It's not even him. Joe Torre decided that Moose pitches "better" when Nieves catches him.

I'm in total agreement. Not that I consider Abreu one of our best hitters, but it's ridiculous on a day when you have Posada and Damon (as dismal as he is,) out of the lineup to not have Abreu who finally started hitting in the lineup.

Oh wait. Torre still manages this team. Forget it.

It's Michael Kay. The same guy who once remarked this year that it was a great year for Canadians in American sports, what with Morneau being a MVP and Peyton Manning winning a Super Bowl.

Yeah, Peyton Manning, that outstanding Canadian.

My wife remarked during the game today that if we could just mute Kay, and listen to whoever else was on the broadcast, Yankees games would be much easier to watch.

Phil Rizzuto and Bill White was the best broadcast team ever. White tried to keep the tone serious all the time, and Phil was always busy talking about canolis. It was wonderful.

You know Kay was good while he was on the radio with Sterling. Sterling was great back then too. Sterling just did quality color all game, and Kay spouted stats like his name was Elias. Then when YES came around, and they started doing other shows and such, they both went down the shitter.

The only team I want to hear doing games is Murcer, O'Neil, and Leiter. Those three can talk baseball all day and I'd never get tired of hearing it.
