Do the Yankees not realize their strike zone is expanded? I mean, at some point, they're going to have to start swinging at pitches on the edges of the zone.
Can't really do that, though. You don't want to swing at junk, and Blanton's not going to keep painting the corner (or just off the corner) like that. They're still better off taking those pitches. Otherwise, you'll just get swings like you saw from Cano on those first two pitches.
Yeah, but Posada is taking pitches that you really want Sabathia to get. You can't have it both ways. Obviously Cano is swinging at garbage like an idiot, but Posada and Teixeira are taking pitches on the borderline.
I'd rather them take that approach. They're not going to (or aren't likely to) hit the ball hard on those pitches. Wait for a mistake. Now, with two strikes, yeah, expand a bit.
Well, they're staring dumbfounded at strike 3. I'd be with you if they weren't just standing there watching everything.
yeah, he didn't touch home plate. That's what happens when they're focused on the collision instead of the plate. If Posada caught the ball, Howard would've been out, I think. The throw beat him.
